Kazuyoshi Torii
Biography
Kazuyoshi Torii was a Japanese manga artist and university professor who began his career as an assistant to Fujio Akatsuka before debuting in 1968 in Weekly Shōnen Sunday. He is best known for Toilet Hakase, a provocative comedy serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump that sold over 10 million copies. He later taught manga studies at Aichi Shukutoku University. Torii passed away on February 9, 2022, from pancreatic cancer at the age of 75.
