Erik Larsen
Biography
Erik Larsen is an American comic book artist, writer, and publisher born on December 8, 1962, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up in Bellingham, Washington, where he created the character that would become Savage Dragon while still in elementary school.
Larsen gained attention at Marvel Comics when he succeeded Todd McFarlane as artist on The Amazing Spider-Man. In 1992, he was one of the founding artists of Image Comics, where he launched Savage Dragon, which he has written and drawn continuously since its debut. It holds the distinction of being the longest-running full-color comic book by a single writer-artist. Larsen served as Image Comics' publisher from 2004 to 2008 and currently serves as the company's chief financial officer.
Larsen won the 1993 Eisner Award for Best Continuing Series for Savage Dragon.
