Japanese manga artist born December 4, 1944 in Kōchi Prefecture, died August 9, 2001. He is best known for Tosa no Ipponzuri, a fishing manga that received two live-action film adaptations, and Haruchan, which was adapted into a drama series. He won the Shogakukan Manga Award in the general category in 1979.
