Peter Laird is an American comic artist and writer born in North Adams, Massachusetts. In 1984 he teamed with Kevin Eastman to self-publish the first issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles through their studio Mirage Studios. Laird later became sole owner of the franchise before selling the rights to Viacom in 2009, and continues to write and draw occasional black and white Turtles comics.
