DMG/Valiant Entertainment
Description
Valiant Comics was founded in 1989 by Jim Shooter, former Editor-in-Chief at Marvel, alongside Steven Massarsky. The publisher built a tightly interconnected superhero universe featuring X-O Manowar, Harbinger, Bloodshot, and Shadowman. Valiant became one of the top publishers of the early 1990s before being sold to Acclaim Entertainment in 1994.
After Acclaim's bankruptcy in 2005, the properties sat dormant until Dinesh Shamdasani and Jason Kothari acquired the rights and formed Valiant Entertainment. The publisher relaunched in 2012 with critical acclaim, rebuilding the shared universe with modern sensibilities.
DMG Entertainment purchased a stake in 2015 and fully acquired Valiant in 2018. Core titles include X-O Manowar, Harbinger, Bloodshot, Shadowman, Archer & Armstrong, Quantum and Woody, Ninjak, Rai, Eternal Warrior, and Unity.
