Star Trek: Starfleet Academy - Lost Contact is a five-issue tie-in series written by Layne Morgan with art by Corali Espuna and Nora Serrano. Cadets Caleb, Genesis, Jay-Den, Kyle, and Tarima are sent to run a survey simulation on a lifeless, low-oxygen planet as part of their training.
A sudden storm severs their contact with instructors aboard the Athena, and the appearance of an alien forces the cadets to rely on everything they have learned about first contact just to survive.
