Part of Marvel's Heroes Return initiative in 1998, bringing Captain America back to the main Marvel Universe after the Heroes Reborn experiment. Written by Mark Waid with art by Ron Garney and inks by Bob Wiacek.
The series re-established Steve Rogers in a post-Cold War context, balancing action with character exploration as Cap adapted to a changed America. Classic villains like the Red Skull returned alongside new threats.
The run continued through 50 issues before relaunching in 2002.
