The Funnies (1929)

The Funnies was an early American comic book series published from 1929 to 1930 by Dell. It consisted of original comic strips presented in a large tabloid format, resembling newspaper inserts more than modern comics. The series experimented with different publication schedules and page counts while pioneering the concept of a comic book made entirely of new material rather than reprints.
