Deadly Genesis

A six-issue limited series from Marvel (2005 to 2006), written by Ed Brubaker with art by Trevor Hairsine.

The story reveals that Professor Xavier sent a team of young mutants to rescue the original X-Men from Krakoa before the formation of the new team in Giant-Size X-Men #1. This mission ended in tragedy, with most of the team presumed dead.

The series introduces Vulcan, a powerful mutant and the lost Summers brother, who returns seeking vengeance against Xavier. Vulcan later became a major player in the War of Kings storyline.
