Understanding Estimated Value & Averages
âś… Article 9: Understanding Estimated Value & Averages
What it is
The estimated value feature helps you get a rough idea of what your collection might be worth based on the data you provide. It’s great for keeping tabs on your investment, insurance purposes, or just satisfying your curiosity.
Where to find it
Go to: https://versedb.com/collection
You’ll see your Estimated Value and Avg. Value per Issue inside the Collection Stats box.
You can also set the value of individual issues when editing them under the Market & Value section.
How to use it
- Edit any issue in your collection.
- Scroll to the Market & Value section.
- Enter a number in the Estimated Value field.
- Optionally, check if the issue is for sale or trade.
- Save your changes — the Collection Stats will update automatically.
Estimated Value = total of all individual issue values you've entered.
Avg. Value per Issue = total value Ă· number of issues in your collection.
Tips & Troubleshooting
- Estimated values are only as accurate as what you input — VerseDB doesn’t auto-pull market prices (yet).
- Don’t know the value of a book? You can leave it blank — it won’t impact your stats.
- Use “Last Updated” to track when you last adjusted a comic’s value.
- Want to track value trends? Consider adding notes when you update.
