Description
The Ghostbusters are the professional paranormal investigators and eliminators built around the core team of Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore, adapted into ongoing comics by IDW Publishing starting in 2008. Operating out of their New York firehouse headquarters with proton packs and containment gear, the team answers calls to capture and contain hostile spirits across a growing continuity of original stories that expand well past the two feature films. IDW's run has sent the team through supernatural mysteries and time-spanning arcs, including confrontations with rival or corrupted versions of their own members, and has folded in the 2016 film's Ghostbusters -- Abby Yates, Erin Gilbert, Jillian Holtzmann, and Patty Tolan -- for crossover team-ups spanning multiple generations of the franchise. Venkman and Spengler's dry, deadpan rapport remains a defining note of the group's dynamic throughout.
