The Eternaut

1957 - 1959

DESCRIPTION

The Eternaut (El Eternauta) is a classic Argentine science fiction comic created by writer Héctor Germán Oesterheld and artist Francisco Solano López, first published in 1957.

Set in Buenos Aires, the story follows Juan Salvo and a group of survivors as they navigate a deadly alien invasion that begins with a mysterious snowfall killing anyone it touches. Told through a unique framing device in which Salvo recounts his tale to Oesterheld himself, the comic explores themes of survival, resistance, and the power of collective action in the face of overwhelming oppression.

Widely regarded as a landmark in Latin American comics, The Eternaut has become a symbol of political resistance and remains culturally and historically significant.
