Description

Jim Harper is the Guardian, a Golden Age DC Comics hero who first appeared in Star-Spangled Comics #7 in 1942. Created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, he is a Metropolis beat cop who constructs a simple costume and circular shield to fight crime in Suicide Slum, the city's most dangerous neighborhood. He was a founding member of the Seven Soldiers of Victory and has been revived across multiple eras of DC continuity, including as a clone operating alongside the government-controlled Cadmus Project.
