Kon-El, also known as Conner Kent, is a clone engineered by Project Cadmus from the genetic material of both Superman and Lex Luthor who took the name Superboy, first appearing in Adventures of Superman #500 in June 1993 during the Reign of the Supermen storyline. Created by writer Karl Kesel and artist Tom Grummett, he initially sought fame as a Superman replacement before developing into a genuine hero in his own right. He became a core member of the Teen Titans and Young Justice and has appeared across numerous DC Comics titles.
