Brer Bear
CharacterDescription
Br'er Bear is a character from the animated sequences of Disney's 1946 feature film Song of the South, adapted from the Uncle Remus folk tales. He serves as the dim-witted partner of Br'er Fox, and together they function as antagonists to the cunning Br'er Rabbit, whose tricks consistently outmaneuver the pair. Br'er Bear is characterized by his great size, gullibility, and explosive temper. He has appeared in Disney comic book stories since the 1940s, typically in stories drawn from the same folk tale tradition as the original film.
