Nobuyuki Fukumoto is a Japanese manga artist born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1958 who specializes in psychological gambling stories. He established himself with the mahjong manga Ten before achieving broad recognition with Kaiji, a gambling and survival series serialized in Weekly Young Magazine from 1996, which sold over 20 million copies and won the Kodansha Manga Award. His distinctive art style and intense psychological focus have made him a defining voice in seinen manga.
