Biography
Paru Itagaki is a Japanese manga artist who studied filmmaking at Musashino Art University before turning to comics. She began serializing her anthology Beast Complex in Weekly Shonen Champion in 2016, followed by Beastars, a critically acclaimed series set in a world of anthropomorphic animals. Beastars earned the 2018 Manga Taisho Award, a Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, a Kodansha Manga Award, and a Japan Media Arts Festival Award.
