Biography
Syd Shores was an American comic book artist who joined Timely Comics as its third employee, inking early Jack Kirby pages including Simon and Kirby's Captain America Comics. When Simon and Kirby left in 1942, Shores became Captain America's regular penciller before serving in the military during World War II. He went freelance in 1948, drawing for Atlas, Avon, and Orbit, and returned to Marvel in the 1960s to ink Kirby's Captain America Comics #100 and several following issues.
