BIOGRAPHY
Jim Lee is a Korean-American comic book artist, writer, editor, and publisher, best known for his dynamic art style and his leadership at both Marvel and DC Comics. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential comic artists of the modern era, blending hyper-detailed anatomy, cinematic layouts, and kinetic energy in every panel.
Lee first gained fame at Marvel Comics for his work on:
- X-Men (1991) – His art helped launch X-Men #1, the best-selling single-issue comic of all time
He later co-founded Image Comics in 1992 with other superstar creators, launching his own imprint:
- WildStorm Productions – Known for titles like WildC.A.T.s and Stormwatch
In 1998, WildStorm was sold to DC Comics, where Lee became a key creative and executive force. At DC, he worked on:
- Batman: Hush – A fan-favorite collaboration with Jeph Loeb
- Superman: For Tomorrow – With writer Brian Azzarello
- Justice League: Origin (New 52) – Helped relaunch the DC Universe in 2011
