Yū Koyama
Biography
Japanese manga artist born in Ogasa, Shizuoka. He debuted in Shōnen Sunday in 1973 and built a career in historical action and sports manga. His boxing series Ganbare Genki won the Shogakukan Manga Award in 1977. He is best known for Azumi, a samurai action manga that began in 1994, won the 1998 Shogakukan Manga Award, and received an Excellence Award at the 1997 Japan Media Arts Festival.
