Biography
British-born American comic book writer best known for his 16-year run on Uncanny X-Men (1975 to 1991). His tenure transformed the X-Men from a canceled title into one of Marvel's most popular franchises.
Claremont created or co-created Rogue, Gambit, Psylocke, Mystique, Emma Frost, and Mister Sinister. His major storylines include "The Dark Phoenix Saga" and "Days of Future Past." His X-Men run remains one of the longest continuous runs by a single writer in American comics.
