The wizard Custos has died, leaving his lair open to adventurers looking to claim whatever he left behind. The monsters who served him in life, bound by his power rather than loyalty, now face losing their home along with their master.

A lycanthrope, a gelatinous cube, a mind flayer, a death knight, and a baby beholder form an unlikely coalition to hold the lair against the incoming raid. To survive in a world that treats them as obstacles, they will have to fight as a unit.
