Toxin (2005)

Toxin is a six-issue limited series written by Peter Milligan with art by Darick Robertson, published by Marvel Comics from April to September 2005. The series follows Patrick Mulligan, a former New York City police officer bonded to Toxin, the symbiote offspring of Carnage and the most powerful of its kind yet spawned. The story connects to the mass prison breakout depicted in New Avengers, with the chaos of hundreds of escaped super-villains giving Pat a reason to put the symbiote's abilities to use. Each issue pits Pat against a different escapee while he tries to keep the young alien's violent instincts pointed in the right direction. The run features guest appearances from Spider-Man, Mr. Hyde, Razor-Fist, the Answer, and the Wrecking Crew, with painted covers by Esad Ribic, Clayton Crain, Simon Bisley, and Duncan Fegredo. The six issues were later collected as Toxin: The Devil You Know.
