VerseDB's MCP integration lets you talk to your comic collection through AI assistants like Claude. Search for comics, manage your collection, track reading progress, check market prices, and more, all through natural conversation.
How It Works#
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that connects AI assistants to apps and services. When you connect Claude to VerseDB's MCP server, your AI assistant can access VerseDB directly: searching series, looking up issue details, adding comics to your collection, and managing your pull list on your behalf.
Instead of navigating menus and clicking buttons, you can say things like:
- "What issues am I missing from Amazing Spider-Man?"
- "Add Uncanny X-Men #266 to my collection, graded 9.4 by CGC"
- "What's coming out from Image Comics next week?"

Your AI assistant accesses VerseDB using your account. It can only see and do what you can do on the site. It never accesses other users' private data.
What You Can Do#
Search & discover. Find series, issues, characters, creators, story arcs, teams, universes, and more across the entire VerseDB database.
Manage your collection. Add issues with condition, grade, and price. Update or remove items.
Track reading progress. Mark issues as read or unread. Check how far through a series you are.
Follow new releases. Add series to your pull list and check upcoming releases by publisher.
Check market prices. Look up fair market values by grade, recent sales, and price trends.
Create lists. Build curated lists of issues, series, characters, creators, story arcs, or teams.
Explore the community. Find comic shops, conventions, store events, podcasts, and community tier lists.
Get reading orders. Ask for character or story arc reading orders and get organized issue sequences.
Analyze your collection. Get AI-powered analysis of your collection's value, gaps, and recommendations.
Who Can Use It#
The MCP integration is available to Pro subscribers. You connect through any MCP-compatible client:
- Claude Desktop - Anthropic's desktop app for macOS and Windows
- Claude Code - Anthropic's CLI tool for developers
- Other MCP clients - Any app that supports the MCP standard

What the MCP Can't Do#
The MCP gives your AI assistant read and write access to your personal VerseDB data. It does not:
- Edit community data (series info, character bios, etc.). These go through VerseDB's moderation system on the website.
- Upload images or cover art
- Access other users' private collections or data
- Manage your account settings or subscription
