Description
A five-issue steampunk adventure published by Benitez Productions in 2019, written by Joe Benitez and M.M. Chen with the main story drawn by guest artist Brian Ching and a prologue by Benitez and Martin Montiel. Lady Mechanika, the mechanical-limbed investigator of the Victorian era, travels to the Spanish countryside after reports of a demonic creature stalking the son of a local Baron. The Baron and his wife are concealing something, and the truth behind the case runs far deeper than a monster hunt. The arc weaves in a mysterious figure from Mechanika's past known as La Madrina, whose connection to events draws the narrative into questions of identity, memory, and the reach of old grievances. Ching's clean linework gives the Spanish setting a warmth that contrasts with the story's darker emotional undercurrent.
