Once & Future is a fantasy comic series from BOOM! Studios written by Kieron Gillen with art by Dan Mora. When a group of British nationalists uses an ancient relic to resurrect King Arthur, the Arthurian legend returns not as a force for good but as a weapon for division. Called back into action is Bridgette McGuire, a retired monster hunter with a lifetime of secret knowledge about the darker truths behind British mythology, and her reluctant grandson Duncan, who is suddenly thrust into a world he never knew existed. Together they must track and stop the resurrected Arthur before his twisted sense of destiny reshapes England itself. The series weaves British folklore and Arthurian myth into contemporary thriller pacing, treating legends as living, dangerous organisms that mutate to reflect whoever summons them. Gillen and Mora sustain a propulsive energy across the 30-issue run, expanding the mythology to include Beowulf, the Fisher King, and the Wasteland while keeping the sharp, darkly comic dynamic between Bridgette and Duncan at the center.
