The Corinthian, a nightmare who escaped the Dreaming, serves as the central figure. The story follows characters whose lives intersect with the Corinthian as they confront manifestations of fear and the nature of nightmares.
The series ran for six issues before continuing in Nightmare Country: The Glass House.
