Green Arrow (2011)

The fifth volume of Green Arrow launched as part of DC's New 52 initiative, running 52 issues from September 2011 to June 2016. The series presents a younger Oliver Queen with his pre-Flashpoint history erased.

The series cycled through multiple creative teams before Jeff Lemire and artist Andrea Sorrentino took over with issue #17. Lemire's run introduced the Outsiders mythology, revealing that Oliver's island shipwreck was part of a generational war between ancient weapon clans. Sorrentino's experimental page layouts earned wide acclaim.

The series benefited from synergy with the Arrow television show, bringing John Diggle and a reimagined Felicity Smoak into comics.
