JSA relaunched the Justice Society of America in 1999, mixing surviving Golden Age heroes with younger legacy characters. James Robinson and David S. Goyer launched the series, with Geoff Johns taking over writing from issue #6 and steering the title through its run. The series gave renewed prominence to characters including Black Adam and Hawkman.
