28 Days Later (2009)
SeriesDescription
28 Days Later is a Boom! Studios horror series set in the rage-virus apocalypse of the British film of the same name. It bridges the gap between that film and its sequel, 28 Weeks Later, picking up with Selena, one of the survivors from the original. Drawn back toward a quarantined Great Britain by a journalist's promise, she joins a small crew crossing the wreckage of an infected nation, where the Rage virus has reduced most of the population to sprinting, blood-vomiting predators. Writer Michael Alan Nelson keeps the threat human as often as viral, since the few people left alive can be as dangerous as the infected. Declan Shalvey's artwork leans into grime, motion, and sudden violence. The result is a tense survival story about scarce resources, fragile trust, and the cost of returning to a country everyone else has written off. The run gathers into six collected volumes and holds to the bleak, fast-moving tone of the films rather than softening it for the page.
