The Annihilation Wave, led by Annihilus from the Negative Zone, threatens to consume the universe. Nova, Silver Surfer, Drax the Destroyer, and Ronan the Accuser unite against the threat. The event revitalized Marvel's cosmic characters and led to the formation of the modern Guardians of the Galaxy.
