The Challengers of the Unknown are four adventurers created chiefly by Jack Kirby, debuting in Showcase #6 (1957). Pilot Ace Morgan, wrestler Rocky Davis, diver Prof Haley, and daredevil Red Ryan survive a plane crash and band together, a concept often cited as a forerunner to the Fantastic Four.
