The Little King

Round, bearded and almost entirely silent, the Little King is a monarch who would rather play than rule. Otto Soglow created him for The New Yorker in 1930 and drew him in newspapers through 1975, in near-total pantomime. The gag is a sovereign sneaking off from his duties.
