Jeckle is one half of the Heckle and Jeckle duo, a pair of identical anthropomorphic magpies created by Paul Terry and introduced by Terrytoons in 1946. Distinguishable by his polite British accent, Jeckle cuts a contrasting figure alongside his brash New York-accented partner Heckle as the two cheerfully cause chaos wherever they go. The duo headlined their own comic book titles across multiple publishers from 1947 to 1987 and appeared regularly in Terrytoons anthology comics alongside characters like Mighty Mouse.
