Terrytoons created this sleepy, good natured bird for the 1938 short Gandy the Goose, pairing him from 1939 with the irritable cat Sourpuss. His comic career began at Timely Comics in 1942 as a regular in Terry-Toons Comics and Mighty Mouse. St. John Publications gave him his own title in 1953.
