Harold "Harry" Osborn is a recurring character in Marvel Comics' Spider-Man stories, first appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man #31 in 1965. The son of Norman Osborn and the best friend of Peter Parker, Harry occupies a central position in Spider-Man's personal world as both a close ally and, at times, a dangerous adversary. After learning that his best friend is Spider-Man and holding him responsible for his father's fate, Harry took up the Green Goblin identity, making the conflict between them one of Marvel's most emotionally charged rivalries.
