Todd Arliss was an Olympic swimmer until a spinal injury ended his career and Dr. Lemuel Dorcas spliced him with tissue from Namor and a tiger shark. He came out amphibious and savage, strongest while submerged and diminished on land. Roy Thomas and John Buscema debuted him in 1968.
