Description

Freckles is the teenage protagonist of the newspaper comic strip Freckles and His Friends, created by Merrill Blosser and first published in 1915. Distributed by the Newspaper Enterprise Association, the strip followed Freckles through childhood and adolescence, evolving from gag-a-day humor into ongoing adventure and romance storylines as the character attended high school and grew up. The strip ran for over five decades, continuing under artist Henry Formhals until 1971.
