Half of the globe-trotting investigator duo at the center of the Franco-Belgian series Tif et Tondu, created by Fernand Dineur in 1938. Despite his name, French slang for "hair," Tif is bald and clean-shaven, while his shipwrecked-sailor partner Tondu sports a full head of hair and beard. Quick-witted and a bit reckless, Tif has an eye for adventure and for the ladies as the pair travels the world solving mysteries.
