Description

Hobbes is a stuffed tiger who functions as both loyal companion and philosophical sparring partner to six-year-old Calvin in Bill Watterson's newspaper comic strip Calvin and Hobbes, which debuted on November 18, 1985. In Calvin's imagination, Hobbes is a fully realized, witty, and opinionated tiger, but to everyone else in the strip he appears as an ordinary stuffed animal. Watterson ran the strip until its conclusion on December 31, 1995, and Hobbes appeared in every installment.
