Albert Fitzwilliam Digby is Dan Dare's batman, the military servant and aide who follows him across the solar system. He was created by Frank Hampson and first appeared in the British weekly Eagle in 1950.
Short, stout, and Wigan-born, he is the plain-spoken opposite of his tall and gallant commander. Digby carries most of the strip's comedy, grumbling his way through crises while proving loyal when it counts.
