Professor C.R. Ritchie built Robot Archie, a remote-controlled mechanical man, and lent him to his nephew Ted Ritchie and Ted's friend Ken Dale for a jungle treasure hunt. Archie first appeared in the debut issue of Lion in 1952, and a 1966 revamp gave him a voice box and a boastful personality.
