Description
Jon Arbuckle is the hapless, socially awkward owner of both Garfield and Odie in Jim Davis's Garfield comic strip, which debuted on June 19, 1978. Perpetually unable to impress women and often ignored or mocked by Garfield, he provides the straight-man domestic context from which the strip's humor derives. Garfield has been one of the most widely syndicated newspaper comics in history and has spawned an extensive line of collected publications and comics adaptations.
