Description
Odie is the cheerful, slobbering dog who shares Jon Arbuckle's home with Garfield in Jim Davis's long-running comic strip. First appearing on August 8, 1978, Odie is perpetually good-natured and trusting, making him a frequent target of Garfield's pranks. Originally the pet of Jon's roommate Lyman, Odie remained in the household after Lyman departed and has been a fixture of the strip ever since.
