Baloo is the easygoing bear introduced in Disney's version of The Jungle Book, where he takes the boy Mowgli under his protection and preaches a life of simple pleasures. He has appeared widely in Disney comics ever since.
In the TaleSpin stories he is reworked as a cargo pilot flying out of Cape Suzette and running his own struggling air freight outfit. Across versions the character holds steady, relaxed, warm, and allergic to hard work.
