Peppermint Patty, full name Patricia Reichardt, is the athletic tomboy of Charles Schulz's Peanuts, introduced in the strip on August 22, 1966. She is loud, confident, hopeless at school, and openly fond of Charlie Brown, whom she calls Chuck. She lives alone with her father, wears sandals year round, and is usually seen with her friend Marcie. Schulz modeled her on a cousin, and she brought a blunt, sports minded energy the strip had not had before.
