Warner Bros. gave this anthropomorphic tuxedo cat his first outing in the 1945 Looney Tunes short Life With Feathers and named him in 1948's Scaredy Cat. Known for chasing the canary Tweety Bird, Sylvester appeared in 103 theatrical shorts, three of them Oscar winners. Mel Blanc voiced him early on.
