Biography

Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro is a Japanese manga artist who debuted in 1996 in Weekly Shonen Jump. He won the Akatsuka Award and the 2001 Shogakukan Manga Award for his comedy series Seikimatsu Leader den Takeshi!, which ran from 1997 to 2002. He is best known for Toriko, a gourmet adventure manga serialized from 2008 to 2016, which sold over 25 million copies and was adapted into an anime by Toei Animation.
