Biography

Japanese manga artist born in Kumamoto in 1975. At 17, Oda won second place in the Tezuka Award for his one-shot Wanted! before training as an assistant to Nobuhiro Watsuki. He launched One Piece in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997, a pirate adventure that became the best-selling manga and comic series in history with over 600 million copies in circulation worldwide.
