Akio Chiba
Akio Chiba was a Japanese manga artist who made his professional debut in 1967, training under his older brother Tetsuya Chiba. His sports manga Captain and Play Ball won the Shogakukan Manga Award for the shonen category in 1977, establishing his reputation as a leading sports manga artist of his era. He published work across both shonen and shojo magazines throughout his career.
